One of the benefits of having a GSA contract is that you have a limited number of competitors, so if you can learn and know your competition it becomes easier to best your competition.

There are a few factors that determine whether your offerings are competitive on these platforms:

-Pricing; naturally one of the primary factors is the pricing of your products.

-Images: proper and complete images are important, we recommend multiple images if possible. Surprisingly, many contractors have very few images and this can be one way you can set yourself apart from your competition.

-Proper names and descriptions; when a buyer clicks on your item and the name or description is incomplete or very different than the other offerings, the buyer may become confused, and subsequently lose respect for your offering, which can have a trickle-down effect on you name recognition as well.

-Properly setup product special features; for example, “Green items”, CPG compliance, Energy Star Compliance, etc., if your items do not have the proper codes, then these features do not appear in GSA Advantage or FedMall. Since buyers are supposed to be as eco-friendly as possible on ALL purchases, if the code is missing on yours but appears on the competition, you may lose a sale based on this small error.

See how your prices rank against other vendors on GSA Advantage with our Advantage Price Analysis.

This review will show if your items are competitively priced, you will see how you rank across a broad spectrum. No one can be the cheapest on all items, but on average you need to have items that will draw buyers to your company so they will come to know your name as on that provides value to them, this is key to achieving repeat buyers on these platforms.
